Reason Why I Cannot Film When I Had Planned

Sadly I cannot film tomorrow as college is closed due to a gas outage. I will be rescheduling for the future.

Gif Tutorial + Particular Sections of My Research Videos That Inspired Me

  1. Open Photoshop
  2. Go to File>Import>Video to Layers
  3. Select the section of the clip you want to turn into a gif
  4. Delete the frames that are not needed
  5. Go to File > Export > Save for Web and Devices

Gifs:

Eventually, I started using makeagif.com to create the gifs as Photoshop was taking too long and this was a faster alternative, although they do not look as good.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge

How to create a storyboard on Pinterest

Here I have put together a step to step guide on how to create a storyboard on Pinterest to show how I did it.
Step 1: Search for what you're looking for.

Step 2: Once you have searched, a page will come up with a variety of images. Find an image you like.

Step 3: Once you have found an image, hover over it and click the 'Pin It' button.

Step 4: Once you have pinned it, you will be given the option to pin the image to one of your existing boards (if you have any) or to create a board. Click create a board.

Step 5: Name your board and click create!

When you want to visit your board you can click on your profile and it will be there!

Storyboarding Ideas using Pinterest

I have been using the website Pinterest for a few months now to gather a collection of images that have inspired me and given me some ideas for my ancillary text and music video. I have also added images to it that I already had in mind from my own knowledge by uploading it to Pinterest myself.

On Pinterest, I created a board and gave it an appropriate name (e.g. Ancillary Text Inspiration) and then began uploading my own images, clipping images I'd seen on the internet and searching for images using Pinterest itself. Pinterest has been very useful in this process.

Lens Technique To Use in My Video

While researching lens techniques and techniques in order to achieve the look I'm going for I found out about putting tights(stockings) over the lens in order to make the footage appear soft focus and dreamy.
This effect has been used in The Rat Pack (1998) dir. Rob Cohen.

It brings a retro, dreamy late 60s feel to the footage which works cohesively with my product as my chosen song is from the late 60s.
I decided to buy a pair of tights in order to test this out and it worked.
I'm also going to buy different coloured tights to see how that looks.

I bought some tights and put them over my camera lens and took a picture of a light to see if the effect worked and how effective it was. This was the result:

Overall, I think the effect worked really well and I will be using it in my video whenever I can as I love the dreamy, misty, foggy effect it creates - which especially suits the tone and mood of the song.
